Looking for some home remedies for bedwetting? Bedwetting really can be a traumatic thing for any kid to go through.
But do not worry as this is a perfectly normal thing that many kids go though in their early life, and you do not need to send your kid to a shrink to figure out what is wrong.
Although the problem is a more of an annoyance for any parents, there are however some really great home remedies for bedwetting that have been proven over the years to really help.
Today we are going to have a look at some of these bedwetting home remedies.
No Drinks Before Bed!
This one may sound like common sense, but many parents ignore it. If you child does have problems wetting the bed then do not let them have a drink just before they go to bed.
In an ideal world you do not want them to be drinking anything 2 hours before bed time. I am not saying that you deny them drinks, but try and make sure they have had enough drinks long before bed time.
Toilet Before Bed
Again this is another common sense one, but make sure your child goes to the bathroom just before they go to bed. Going to sleep with a half full bladder isn’t doing any good for your child either. Not only does it increase the chance of bedwetting, it could also increases the risks of getting an infection such as bladder infection or urinary tract infection in children.
Wake Them Up
This one may not be for everyone, but it worked for me. I woke my daughter up every night at around 12 to get her to go to the bathroom. After a while she would wake up her self if she needed instead of going right there in the bed while asleep.
Many children’s subconscious knows they need to get to the bathroom, but for whatever reason they just do not wake up. I found this as a great way of getting her to wake herself up when she needed.
Cranberry Juice
Many people swear by this one, but it goes against rule number one. Give your child a small drink of cranberry juice about an hour before bed time. The reason behind it is that the juice is believed to help your child control his or her muscles better and therefore stops or at least reduces the occurrence of bedwetting while sleeping.
Supposedly many people have said that this is one of the best home remedies for bedwetting.
