Strapless shapewear is a garment for all walks of life. It is one of the fastest growing trends of the decade. Shapewear has been used for centuries to mold the body into a desired shape, but most of them often have additional garment pieces that can cause issues when wearing certain outfits.
As an example, a shapewear that requires straps to be placed on the shoulders can look a little awkward in a tube top dress. So lingerie companies decided to introduce shape wears that are strapless so that even the smallest outfit doesn’t give away any secrets!

Now there are different types of strapless shapers available. Some are full body suits that can easily compose multiple areas and others are just tops primarily designed to shape the torso. Often found in black, white, or nude colors; these shapers can become translucent to any outfit. The more popular styles are full body suits.
These are usually made from spandex to help with sucking in the additional fat. Not to worry, there are thinner materials such as cotton and camisole that are much more comfortable, but serve a different purpose than a girdle. With these, they are able to shape the bottom part of the body focusing on the hips and thighs while minimizing the bust area. Some women are born with a bigger bosom and because of this, they sometimes have issues with certain tops.
By using strapless shapewears made from a softer material, they are able to improve the bottom portion of their body while minimizing their top. This often results in a perfect proportion. Read more about body shapers for women here.
Another well-known style of this type of shapewear is a bustier. In fact, most brides wear these to help with shaping for their wedding dress. Read more on corsets and bustiers here. Typically, a bustier has an under wire that helps with pushing up cleavage.
But, this isn’t the only positive affect of wearing this strapless shapewear, it actually slims down the stomach area as well! Shopping for this shapewear is fairly easy, just make sure to try everything on prior to purchasing. The perfect fit is comfortable and contrary to popular belief, you should be able to breathe while wearing it.
